Corsa Stats and Mods!!
Some basic stats for you on a few of the Corsa Engines
The Corsa engine is not a bad all round engine. The 1.2 16v does well and sold by the thousands when Vauxhall brought it out with Free Insurance. Seems to be the most popular Corsa at the moment. Then, there is the 1.4 16v, again, i feel this is the best engine of the three as it does quite well in its class. The 1.6 16v (two types) is not that good i feel as standard though compared to the other 1.6 engines on the market (i.e Pug 106 GTi, Saxo etc). But, this is a very tunable engine with the right modifications. Below are the FACTORY specs for the most sporty of Corsa Engines.

Argument Time
Some people are going to moan that some of these facts are incorrect, but theres been a few websites that i've visited that have the same information, so don't shoot the messenger!!!
A lot of people will bragg saying they have had their cars a lot faster. I've had D4MO B past the factory speedo speed, but in reality, the speedo is probabley out (Vauxhalls are known for that).

The OTHER engine facts!!!
There are a few companies that modify Vauxhall engines to gain BIG BHP from them. The 1.4 16v Engine is quite tunable. Although you can get better engines to tune that have bigger power and speed as standard. The pick of the bunch for tuning in the 1.6 16v engine. Either model really. Kits including Throttle Bodies have been produced pushing the 1.6 16v engine up to 235bhp and a rev limiter of 9200rpm!!!!! Although, i think that even more is possible! Two of the most powerful 1.6 16v Corsas i know are that of Andy Hamilton and Lee Manning (or Lees old car anyway). Andy is running a Throttle Bodies setup with a few other mods which is keeping his motor running at 180bhp at the moment. Although Andy has plans to up this to 220bhp roughly in the near future with a few more mods. Lee's old car hasn't got Throttle Bodies, but is running an aftermarket inlet manifold, (and a few other tasty mods) to get his beast to over 165bhp!!!
Big power from little cars!!!!
Best way to Tune the 16v?
There will always be arguments on this, but there is many ways u can gain power from the 16v engine. Most common mods are a CAT back exhaust, and induction kit. Some people choose to go with a superchip and/or unichip as well. Then if ur gonna go big time, get rid of the CAT and get a decent manifold. Then you can either go for an aftermarket Inlet Manifold, or throttle bodies! Or theres the Turbo or even better (for power) and in development Supercharger!!! More in depth write up of these mods and more in the other pages!
